A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL BLACKPOOL
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following:
Conduct regular inspections of the hotel's facilities to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance to avoid breakdowns or safety hazards.
Respond promptly to guest requests for room repairs or maintenance issues, ensuring guest satisfaction and comfort.
Assist in maintaining the exterior of the hotel property, including landscaping, parking areas, sidewalks, and outdoor recreational facilities.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of hotel equipment such as kitchen appliances.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks to ensure the safety of guests, team members, and property.
Be available for emergency maintenance calls, including after-hours and weekends, and respond quickly to resolve urgent issues.
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels for routine maintenance tasks.
Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and any relevant observations or recommendations.
Work collaboratively with other departments, including housekeeping, front desk, and management, to address maintenance-related concerns and ensure smooth hotel operations.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Maintenance Assistant, you will need the following qualities and skills:
Previous experience in maintenance or a related field preferred, but not required.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems; proficiency in using hand and power tools; ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail to identify maintenance issues and ensure repairs are completed thoroughly and accurately.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
Dependable and punctual, with a willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
