Working for RBH - Himani Rikhari

"I was looking for a graduate position and I spotted information about RBH's graduate course in an industry magazine. I applied, made it through the assessment centre and someone from the company got in touch with me to ask more details and discuss my experience. I was invited to a hotel in Edinburgh for the day to show my skills and I met with the company’s COO, and then made it through the next few rounds, ultimately becoming the company’s first graduate manager.

Through that role, I learned the day-to-day operations of different hotel brands, which helps me a great deal in my job today.

RBH have been great when it comes to encouraging and facilitating career progression. I started as a graduate and I was given the opportunity to get involved in projects that interested me. I wanted to do F&B in my first placement and was able to do that, and later when I wanted experience in other areas such as shift manager and reception, I got to do those too. After that, when the project work in e-procurement came up my colleagues in HR were so helpful. I was also offered amazing professional training courses with GM Academy being one of them. I think RBH recognises that supporting my career progression is beneficial for both the company and myself.”
